On five exclusive occasions, Minaro Spa invites you on an extraordinary sauna journey inspired by South American traditions and wellness rituals.

During the Minaro Sauna Marathon, guests can enjoy a carefully curated programme of guided sauna sessions, authentic Temazcal steam rituals, and refreshing treats between experiences. From deep relaxation to invigorating heat therapies, each session offers a different way to unwind, recharge and reconnect.

The programme is available for both hotel guests and day spa visitors. As places are limited, advance booking is highly recommended.

The participation fee includes access to all guided sauna sessions throughout the Sauna Marathon.

For day spa visitors, the programme ticket is available in addition to the wellness day pass.

Upon registration, participants will receive a wristband granting access to all scheduled sauna experiences.

Few places in the world bring together two such distinct worlds so naturally. Nestled in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Tokaj Wine Region, Minaro Hotel Tokaj MGallery Collection brings the spirit of South America to life. Following its recent transformation, the hotel offers an even richer thematic experience with new symbols, striking installations and countless details inspired by the heritage of the Inca, Maya and Aztec civilizations.

The story begins in a former andesite quarry. The same volcanic rock that shaped the Andes Mountains also defines this unique landscape, while the terraced vineyards opposite the hotel evoke the iconic scenery of Machu Picchu. This remarkable connection inspired Minaro’s concept, where Tokaj’s heritage meets the mystique of ancient South America.

From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed by a monumental Tumi sculpture, followed by the golden relief of Viracocha, the Inca creator god, in the lobby. Golden accents, ancient symbols and jungle-inspired interiors continue throughout the hotel, while a hidden Amazon corner behind the reception completes the immersive experience.

The renewed Amazonas Spa, signature cocktails at Viracocha Bar, and the culinary creations of Tortuga Restaurant continue this journey, combining the flavours and traditions of Tokaj and South America in a truly unique way.

Named after the Spanish words minar (to mine) and oro (gold), Minaro reflects both the history of its former quarry and Tokaj’s legendary “liquid gold” – its world-famous Aszú wine.

Inspired by this philosophy, we are delighted to present Tokaj Heritage Day, organised in collaboration with Máriásy Winery. This special event invites our guests to experience the authentic atmosphere of the harvest and follow the journey of the grape from vine to glass. Participants can take part in the harvest, discover the history and natural characteristics of the wine region, and taste Tokaj’s distinctive wines and freshly pressed grape must.

This day is dedicated to local heritage, genuine human connections and memorable moments shared together—everything that has made Tokaj so special for generations.

Programme:

11:00 – Arrival and welcome
Meet at Máriásy Winery for a warm ceremonial welcome.

11:15 – Departure for the vineyards
We will walk together to the harvest site, where guests can personally take part in picking the grapes. All necessary harvesting equipment will be provided by the winery.

11:45 – Harvest experience in the vineyard
Guests will participate in the harvest before helping to load the filled crates for transportation back to the winery.

12:00 – Discovering the Tokaj wine region
We will walk to the highest point of the estate while a representative of Máriásy Winery introduces the history, distinctive vineyard sites and volcanic characteristics of the region.

At this panoramic location, guests will enjoy a picnic accompanied by a guided wine tasting.

Tokaj reveals one of its most beautiful faces in autumn. The vines turn golden, the cellars fill with the promise of a new vintage, and the streets come alive with wine, music and traditions passed down through generations.

The Tokaj-Hegyalja Harvest Festival is one of Hungary’s oldest and most prestigious harvest celebrations. Held since 1932, this three-day event brings visitors closer to the communities, winemakers, artisans and cultural heritage of the Tokaj wine region.

At Minaro Hotel Tokaj – MGallery, local heritage is more than a source of inspiration: it is an essential part of the guest experience. In keeping with the spirit of MGallery, we believe in creating meaningful connections between our guests and their destination, introducing them to its communities, stories and living traditions.

The festival celebrates Tokaj’s greatest treasures: its vineyards, wines, communities and centuries-old harvest traditions.

Wine, gastronomy and culture take centre stage at locations throughout the town. Traditional highlights include:

-wine presentations and tastings by Tokaj-Hegyalja wineries;

-local culinary specialities;

-artisan markets and traditional crafts;

-open-air concerts and live music;

-folk music and heritage performances;

-street theatre productions;

-family activities and creative workshops;

-open cellars and accompanying events throughout the wine region.

Many of the programmes are expected to be free of charge, although tickets may be required for selected headline concerts.

Here, Tokaj’s legendary liquid gold meets Minaro’s renewed, even more distinctive South American-inspired world. Spend your days discovering the region’s iconic wineries – Máriásy, Basilicus, Götz, Sauska, Disznókő and Hétszőlő – explore volcanic vineyards and historic wine cellars, then return to a place where every moment of relaxation has a story of its own.

On 19 September, join the Tokaj Heritage Day, a unique experience created in partnership with Máriásy Winery, where the harvest becomes more than a spectacle – it becomes an experience. Follow the journey of the grape from vine to glass, taste freshly pressed grape must and carefully selected Tokaj wines, while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views over the vineyards.

From 26 September, our popular Wine Tales (Mesél a bor) experience returns every Saturday, inviting you to discover the stories behind Tokaj’s most celebrated wines through guided tastings. Then, from 2–4 October, the Tokaj-Hegyalja Harvest Festival brings the region’s traditions to life with music, gastronomy, local wines and festive celebrations.

As the vineyards grow quiet towards evening, the experience continues at Minaro. Unwind in the warm waters of the Amazonas Spa, enjoy a memorable dinner at the Tortuga Restaurant, where the flavours of Tokaj meet South American inspiration, and end your day with a signature cocktail at the Viracocha Bar. Here, autumn is not simply a season—it is an experience to savour.
